When redesigning a living space, using large vases is a great way to add style and a personal touch to a room. A common mistake to make when redesigning a room is to put all you energy into the larger aspects of a redesign such wall colour, flooring, lighting and windows but forget about the finishing touches which make space feel like a home. There are lots of different home decor accessories you can use to personalise a room, such as mirrors, wall art and candles but vases are one of the most versatile.
Obviously vases come in all shapes, colours and sizes and there are a number of ways they can be used in a living space. One or two large plain glass vases suit flower displays, using a simple flower keeps the attention on the flowers. Flowers will never go out of style or fashion and they are a great way to bring life into a room by bringing a little bit of the outdoors indoors.
Designer vases are best used by themselves without flowers. Two or three large designer vases arranged together can make a dramatic statement and can easily form the centerpiece of a room, either in front of a fireplace, on a table or a window sill. If you buy a designer vase it's a good idea to let the design speak for itself rather filling it with flowers.
Another way to use large glass vases is to fill them. You can use clear glass vases or coloured glass vases and it only take a little imagination to create something unique and very personal for you living space. Glass vases can be filled with all sorts of things to create an interesting ornament, such as stones, candles, old wine bottle corks, match boxes, indoor plants, marbles the list is endless really.
